Jahanara Imam Paragraph for Class 7

Jahanara Imam, a Bangladeshi writer and educator, was born on May 3, 1929, in Sundarpur, Murshidabad district. She’s often referred to as “Shahid Janani” (Mother of Martyrs). Her well-known book is ‘Ekattorer Dinguli’ (Days of ’71). She played a crucial role in the ‘Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee’ (Committee to Expose Collaborators).

Her eldest son, Shafi Rumi, joined the liberation war and engaged in successful guerilla operations against the Pakistani army. Unfortunately, he was killed in action. Tragically, she lost her husband just three days after Bangladesh’s victory on December 16, 1971. In 1981, she was diagnosed with mouth cancer. Despite her battle, she passed away on June 26, 1994, leaving behind a legacy of courage and resilience.
