    Zone 1: Market Closed in Dhaka City

    Zone 1 is in the south of Dhaka city. Zone one consists of Bangla Bazar, Bangsal, Dholaikhal, Gandaria, Gulistan, Jatrabari and wari. Alongside with it are Patuatuli, Shyambazar,ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh, Nawabpur, Chankharpur and Tipu sultan road.

    So, markets and shopping centers in these areas are fully closed on Friday. Hence, on other days the markets will be operational from 10 am to 8 pm. Furthermore, the markets are closed for half day on Saturday. Hence, they will be operational from 10 am to 2 pm in a half day.

    Zone 2: Dhaka Weekly Closed Day

    Zone 2 covers Rampura, Banashree, Khilgaon, Goran. It also consists of Malibagh, Bashabo, Madertek, Mugda, Manda, sabuj ganj. Apart from that the east side of Kamalpur, Manik Nagar, Dhalpur, and Saidapur are included. Furthermore, the sides of Jatrabari, Demra, Sahnir Akhra, Rayerbagh, Shankarpur, and Dania are also in zone 2.

    This area is Closed fully on Sunday. So all operations will cease to exist. But on Monday, the markets will be open from 10 am to 2 pm. So, Monday is considered a half-day. 

    Zone 3: Dhaka Market Off Day Schedule

    Zone 3 is mainly popular for Dhaka university, Viqarunnisa noon School & College (Main Branch), and Eden College. The area also covers Eskaton, Moghbazar, Bailey Road, Siddheswari, Malibagh, Shahjahanpur, Shaheed Bagh, Shantibagh, Shantinagar, fakirapul, Paltan, Motijheel, Tikatuli, Gopibagh, Arambagh.

    Besides that Shegunbagicha, kakrail, Bijoynagar, Topkhana Road, Press Club, High Court Bazaar are in this zone. The north side of Gulistan, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy udyan are also included in this zone. And not to forget, Shishu Park is also in Zone 3. So, if you want to take kids out to the park, make sure of the day.

    As zone 3 is closed fully on Thursday. And only operational for half-day on Friday.

    Zone 4: Weekly Off Day

    Zone 4 incorporates Kathalbagan, Karwan Bazar, Hatirpul, Manik Mia Avenue, Rajabazar, Indira  Road, Tejturi Bazar, Farm Gate. It also consists of a section of Tejagaon, Nilkhet,Kataban, Elephant road ,Kalabagan,Dhanmondi, Hajaribagh, Jigatala, Peelkhana and Pilkhana. Also not to forget a section of Lalmatia.

    There are a lot of supermarkets and markets here. So, locals and tourists are always drawn here. Be it seasonal shopping or a wedding. You can always find your type of clothing. Also, bargaining is considered a talent in this area.

    Advice to our shopaholics, sharpen your bargaining before coming here.  The markets in this are closed on Tuesday and operational for a half-day on Wednesday.

    Zone 5: Market Closed in Dhaka City

    Next is zone 5. This area covers Adabor, Asad Gate, Mohammadpur, Gabtoli, Shyamali, Mirpur, Kalyanpur, Mirpur Zoo Area, and lalmatia. Furthermore, Dhaka zoo is in this zone. So, it’s a spot of attraction for spectators. 

    This zone has two days off. One day is a half-day, which is Friday. And Thursday is a Full day.

    Zone 6: Dhaka City Market Weekend

    Zone 6 concludes Agargaon, cantonment, Taltola, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Shewrapara, Kazipara, Mirpur 10-14, Ibrahimpur, Kachukhet, Kafrul, Mohakhali, Dohs, Kakoli, Tejgaon old airport area, Tejgaon industrial area, and Mohakhali.

    This area has an intercity bus terminal. Hence this is the center of the commute. The markets in this area are closed on Sunday and the half-day is on Monday.

    Zone 7: Dhaka City Market Off Day

    Zone 7 is known for its trading establishments. It consists of Badda -Madhya, Uttar, Jagannathpur, Bashundhara, Ashkona, Satarkul, Shahzadpur, Kuril, Nikunja 1, 2, Khilkhet, Dokkhinkhan, Joar Sahara.

    Alongside that, the south side of Tongi bridge and airport road also consists of this zone.

    Just like other zones, this one has its closing day.  Wednesday is the full day off. Whereas, Thursday is a half-day.
